When I first came to Gonzaga I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was nervous, excited, and three kinds of horrified for college classes. You hear the tales of horror from friends and family, of unhelpful professors and stress filled days. So when I came into Kate’s class I was not sure what I was going to be getting. However, something happened that came from left field. I was in a class that I enjoyed and learned immensely from. From the various activities and work we’ve done I have discovered an entirely different aspect to writing than what I have become accustomed to. Of course I knew writing could be more than just essays, but it never really hit home until I was asked to write about things I care about. By doing this I finally understood what it meant to use writing as a tool to talk about the things that matter to me. And as an extension, by hearing all of your writings it gave me a glimpse into how writing affects others, and in turn how I can learn from it. But of all the experiences I think I learned the most from my forum. It taught me how to work in a equally supportive and effective group, and how to help others just as they help me. So thank you to Kate for being the best english professor I could ever have, and thank you to every single one of my classmates. It’s been fun, and I can’t wait to see what we all do with the rest of our time at Gonzaga.
Sincerely, Ckyrro Carlos <3
