Throughout this semester of class my fellow classmates and friends have helped me far more than I believe they know. Early on in the year when we participated more in class discussions on ideas about articles we may have read, these discussions helped open my ideas up and see things in other creative lights. I remember also struggling to come up with ideas for my very first unessay as I did not really understand the concept of an “unessay.” Being able to talk about topics in our small groups helped me bounce around some ideas to finally come up with a roadmap of what I wanted to do. Later, when we brought our rough drafts in I got extremely helpful advice that helped me lean towards a much higher quality draft. This proved extremely helpful again when later we were working on our small group presentations. Working together helped us come to a better understanding of what we each wanted from our topic as well as the direction each person was going to take so that we could link our ideas all back together yet still approach it in different ways.
I really appreciate how everyone in this class was open to helping each other out. Outside of class those who lived in the same dorms as me would always be willing to answer questions I may have had for the day, as well as answering survey questions for my presentation. In addition, when some of the blog prompts did not make much sense it was really helpful being able to look at how many of my fellow students were approaching the blog. It allowed me to get some ideas from people and at least have a starting point where I then could add my own voice to my writing as I continued on. It also let me see the type of work that most students were putting forth so that I could have a good idea on what could be considered too short of a blog.
This was a great class with great people and I wish you all the best of luck on your college endeavors.
