To begin, I understand that women’s sports tend to bring in less revenue compared to men’s sports, that is not the issue for me. My issue is that female coach’s who put in the similar amount of time as male coaches are paid drastically less. Each sport requires coaches to lead weights/ conditioning and all practices. All coaches are required to make the tough decisions of who is starting and who should be in the next recruiting class. No matter the sport, men’s or women’s, a coach will do whatever it takes to help the team. The injustice seems caused by gender of the sport and gender should not be factor if all coaches play similar roles. I could understand if the salaries were slightly off, but the number presented by the sports group suggested that the salaries were different in some cases by millions of dollars. This topic could help expose other gender issues in the world of college athletics.
