- I think that self-esteem really influences social media in our generation today. People use social media as not only an outlet from their normal life, but a way to boost their confidence and show all the people in their life, how they are doing. While this is a good thing, typically social media only shows the positives of one’s life. Rarely do people post a picture of them that they do not like or feel comfortable in. While social media can be a good confidence booster, sometimes it seems like it is used to portray a different you, someone you wish you were more like. Not only that, but when it comes time for socializing in public, rather than on social media, because of this fake front you have online, it may be even harder to “be yourself” in real life. While I think social media has been positive in many ways, including boosting self-esteem, I think sometimes it can also do harm to oneself.
- Due to the extreme progression of technology and media throughout recent years, how do you think our millennia will differ from children younger than us who are experiencing technology and media at a much younger age than we did? How will this impact them using the Maslow’s Hierarchy?
