Ever since I can remember, I hated change. I would go from school to school and try my best to and something that I loved about the new school, but always found myself missing my old one. This was due to issues that I had, and still have to a certain extent, that are very personal to me, but have had profound affects on my ability to acclimate to new environments. However, I was given a piece of advice, and that was to give it a shot. Don't count yourself out before you get a chance to find something about this new environment that you love. I figured that something good had to come out of change so I gave it a shot. I would either be successful and love it, or be able to say that I tried and be certain that this new place wasn't for me. I approached new things with optimism and found that changes in my life weren't as scary as I made them out to be. I loved my new school and that has definitely been the case here at Gonzaga.
College is easily the biggest change that we as teens go through. We are leaving the nest that we have called home for our whole live and going to an unknown environment to live with people that we don't know. Again, optimism as the key and I ended up meeting people that I know I will be friend with for years. I found my passions and got a roommate that is more of a brother to me than my own brother.
Reflection:
I think that this piece is very original because it includes my own unique experiences that back up my opinions. It includes adaptive and linked opinions that I developed through my experiences wit change, which makes them stronger in my opinion. Change is how we get to make the transition for young adult to adult and when we get to form new opinions that will shape how we approach the world after college.
