I understand why people become frustrated with social media. It can consume people, it becomes their sole interest to the point where they're missing what's really happening around them. This level of obsession is too much for me personally. I enjoy using social media and try to represent myself well, meaning no negative posts. Social media should be a place for you to express yourself not a place to spread negativity.
Hello I'm Maddie Dellinger. I'm from Brier, Washington which is a few minutes outside of Seattle. I only have a few social media accounts Instagram, Facebook, and snapchat. My friends finally convinced me to make an Instagram the summer before coming to Gonzaga. I'm not extremely involved in social media but I enjoy certain aspects of it. I love seeing my friends' adventures and how their lives are going. Especially now since we're in college and don't see each other very often. It's refreshing to see them experiencing new things and making new memories. I use social media for that purpose as well, to show how my life is going. I try to stray away from becoming obsessed with how many likes a photo gets or how many followers I have. That's not the reason why I made the accounts, I made them to connect with people and to express myself. Instagram especially, serves as a wonderful creative outlet.
