What are the consequences of trying to fulfill human needs through social media?
I am sure you have thought of this question, or at least about a topic relating to this, before now. To be honest, I have.
Our generation, millennials, has been raised surrounded by the quickly evolving aspect of life, media. Before our generation, media was not a major part of peoples’ life. We have grown up in an environment where opting to do physical activity instead of staying indoors to watch television or interact with your phone is not prevalent. With this said, I want to research the disadvantages that social media specifically has on the fulfillment of human needs.
By means of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, my group and I will expand and delve into the effects social media has on fulfilling these needs. This is a hot topic and should be of great interest to someone who grew up in the midst of this issue. With research on this topic, you will be stunned by the lack of fulfillment you receive because of social media.
I think it is safe to say the results will let the audience know that social media is a negative source, but is there research supporting the stance that it is a positive source. Wait and find out.
Here is a link to get you thinking. Enjoy and happy research!
