Moving into my dorm room at Gonzaga has been the most challenging change of my college experience thus far. Not because I was struggling to organize my clothes and decide where to hang my decorations, but because it was the beginning of a new journey that was going to change my life forever. As I finished unpacking my bags, the fear of my new adventure set in and I became frightened at the reality of being a college student and on my own for the first time. When it was time for my parents to go, I gave them the biggest hug and unsuccessfully tried to hold back the tears that were welling in my eyes. As I watched them drive away, I realized that my life was changing. This change continued to grow as I ate new foods, met new people, and studied subjects that were more challenging than any other I had taken to date. All these changes overwhelmed me and caused me to contemplate why my life was so different and uncomfortable. As I trudged through the semester, I realized the reason my life was so different was due to the necessary changes I was experiencing. I now view these changes as beneficial because they have provided me the confidence to tackle any challenging change that I may encounter in the future. Although these changes were the hardest I have ever experienced in my lifetime, I am eternally fortunate for them because they have given me undeniable strength that will stick with me forever. I believe that these changes positively impacted me and my personality, and have made a true a difference in who I am today.
Change has become on of the most important aspects of my life because it affects everything I do and everything I encounter daily. I believe that change is different for everyone, but my view is very original and engaging because I have the ability to share my story and the challenges and success I have had through change. I used personal experience to portray my considered opinion of the first-hand experience I have had through change. This type of opinion helped me share my feelings and show the audience how much I have grown from the things I have learned just from a few months at college.
