With Raul in power now rather than his brother Fidel, the change may come much rapidly than it otherwise would. Although the brothers share similar values, Raul’s convictions seem much less intense, and he appears to be much more willing to accept influence from the outside world. Whatever the coming years may hold, it is sure that Cuba and her people are on the precipice of a great leap in development, and it will be interesting to see what happens next.
I chose to write a true summary because the article relayed raw information without any apparent bias so far as I could detect. As such, the article left little up to interpretation and, as such, I deemed it best to merely summarize the facts it provides.
